I love a good midweek food deal where I know it’s not a weekend treat, but I want good food for a decent price. So where are the cool deals at the moment?
Southsea Coffee – Osbourne Road – Southsea
This may be a small family business but it is big on flavours and has a well-loved reputation for tasty dishes. Using local suppliers, they know how to serve up delicious food.
Along with their all-day brunch that averages out at about £12pp they have a breakfast deal which is Halloumi + scrambled egg sandwich OR bacon + scrambled egg sandwich PLUS a coffee for £9.50. This deal is only on Monday to Friday.
Florio’s D’ Italia – High Street – Old Portsmouth
This fab family-run Italian has been open now coming up to 2 years, and the reputation for their pizzas is just the best. Using slow-fermented homemade pizza bases, I don’t ever feel bloated and they taste so good. The last time I went on a lunch time, every table had Italians seated at them except us!
Their midweek deal is Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday ALL DAY, and offers selected pizzas for £13.95 that includes a drink. The choice of drink can be a soft drink, or beer or a house wine.
Eastney Tavern – Cromwell Road – Southsea
This wonderful South Coast traditional pub has a Mexican night on Wednesday the 26th of March which offers a sharing board of 2 x mains, 2 x sides, 1 x churros and 2 x corona beers for £20pp. I would definitely recommend booking for this!
The Briny – Clarence Esplanade – Southsea
The coastal seafood restaurant regularly has deals on and the latest one is the Moules Marinieres for £20pp which will happen on the 26th of March as the last one so far of the season. This includes one portion of fries and one portion of baguette per person. A popular deal, so make sure to book in advance for this one! Reservations are between 12 noon – 2.30pm and 6pm-8.15pm.
Fish Friday is also an option here until the 28th March between 5-7pm, where they will be serving house Fish & Chips at a discounted price, including a set dessert of the day! Adults price is £15 and £7 for Children.
Nicholsons Tapas – Albert Road – Southsea
This Spanish joint loves us to join them at lunchtimes and does a cool deal where you can have 5 tapas and pay for 4. This deal is on Monday to Friday and 12pm until 4pm.
They also do Paella Wednesday night deals from 4pm where you get a pitcher and a starter and Paella for £25pp, so make sure to check what current deals are on all week!
You can also sign up for their mailing list and they will send you their deals that are on at present.
Ferg and the team know how to serve good food and their latest lunch deal of any deli sandwich, medium hot drink & daily pastry, cookie or muffin for £14.50 hits the spot!
If you want a lighter option, they do a bagel and coffee deal for £10.
King Street Tavern – King Street – Southsea
For the meat eaters out there, the KST smokehouse sharing trays are a must to have with your friends or just for yourself!
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights are 10% off sharing trays, which consist of the Lone Star, KC or the Bear tray on the menu.
Croxtons – Palmerston Road – Southsea
These guys know how to do a deal! The great thing is that no matter what is going on in my life, I know that Croxton’s always do Tapas Tuesday, Steak Wednesday and their Thursday night buy one burger get one for £1, but did you know that they are doing 2 x mojitos for £14 for the whole of March?
