I always loved this place when I first moved here, back when it was the Belle Isle. It had a casual, relaxed vibe. Being close to the seafront it was somewhere you could always pop to when you had been for a long walk or one of the cool events happening on the common. The one thing I loved more than anything though was the seating outside where on a beautiful sunny day you could park your bum and people watch while drinking a cool beer.
Isn’t it lovely out there this time of year? That beautiful May sunshine, the scent of new flowers emerging, their brightly coloured petals filling our green spaces around Southsea with a sea of colour. Those seemingly never ending warm evenings stretched out and filled with meeting friends at the pub, sitting in the beer garden, drinking and chatting till last orders. Oh, hang on a minute...
