There is a new exhibition at Joy Fantastic, starting on Saturday the 7th December at 6.30pm until 9.30pm, where you can meet the artists involved.
Called ‘A Family Thing’ and featuring; Clayton Burke, Ebenezer Faith, Matt Riley and Pete Watts, it is going to be a show not to miss! The exhibition is called ‘A Family Thing’ because the gallery has invited close friends and family to be part of the show whether that be artists involved or people coming to view the exhibition.
Speaking to the Joy Fantastic gallery owner, Lewis Darvill, he said, “Although it’s been a while since our last show, I thought it was time to share some exciting new unique artwork with Portsmouth, stuff you won’t see anywhere else. Driven by some young fresh and friendly staff I recently hired, our expanded Joy Fantastic Fam are excited to bring together our close relations and welcome strangers into our gallery to celebrate some wicked new talent.
“We’re always here to help bring some colour to our town, and this Saturday we’ll be joined by some amazing artists who are keen to share the beauty behind their art.”
You can watch the mini clips on Joy Fantastic’s socials where they grab an insight into each artist involved. I love this as you really grasp what each artist is about. Clayton Burke is from Winchester and talks of his inspiration from David Hockney and how that kind of art and photography helped him develop his style as a collage artist.
There is also £600 of art up for grabs where each artist has donated a unique piece for one lucky winner. All you have to do is head to the Joy Fantastic Instagram socials and follow the rules of play. The competition ends on Sunday the 8th of December at 3pm so don’t miss out!
Make sure to pop down and view the brilliant collection of work by the 4 artists involved. See the exhibition on Saturday evening and Sunday the 8th December from midday until 3pm and then usual hours in the week!
