As you may or may not know, Pride Month is almost upon us. We’ve been supporters of Portsmouth Pride since we started – and it’s an absolute honour to have become so involved with the events more recently and to have made some excellent friends through it, with the intention of holding more events and collaborations in the future too!
This year, we’re holding a relaxed drop-in evening on the Friday before the main event, to allow people to come along and browse our ever-growing range of LGBTQ+ titles, both fiction and non-fiction, meet similarly-minded readers, and chat to queer authors – we’re delighted to be joined by Lewis Hancox, whose graphic novel ‘Welcome To St. Hell’ has been an incredible success so far, and Mister Samo – who is a trans activist and artist whose incredible work you’re bound to have seen somewhere across the city.
You’re all welcome to join us on Friday 9th of June, when the shop will remain open after the usual 5pm closing time – and we’ll be here until around 7pm so hopefully plenty of you can make it!
We’ve got a few Pride-related recommendations to add to your reading list, all of which are available to buy from us now – and don’t forget, if you don’t see what you’re looking for, make sure to let us know and we can probably get it within a few days.
