Record Store Day always brings a huge buzz to independent record stores and today sees a fab day to buy a vinyl and support your local record shop.
The Pie & Vinyl celebrates its 12th RSD which they believe brings the spirit of RSD that happens across the country to their doorstep on Castle Road. They have a fab relationship with distributors and labels and so have a great level of stock and titles for you to purchase. It might be busy and you might have to queue, but the atmosphere always makes up for this!
There are hundreds of exclusive releases that will be available on 22nd April to celebrate the UK’s independent record shops with special releases from the likes of Elton John, Sam Smith, Pixies, Madonna and this year’s Record Store Day UK Ambassador The 1975! Taylor Swift is releasing a first and only edition of ‘folklore: long pond studio sessions’. Emerging UK-based talent features across the list including Yard Act, Baby Queen, Greentea Peng and BBC Sound Of 2023 nominees piri & tommy.
Other record shops locally will be getting in on the buzz like Nothing Ventured Vinyl On Highland Road, and although they don’t have any new releases today they are always great for popping in and buying a new record. Alex brings a huge focus to the area with specialising in Dance, Drum and Base, Hip Hop and Garage music, so head along there to check out his collection.
We have such cool little record spots around the area so if you have a favourite place to buy your records from then make sure to show your support today!
