We’re only a few days away from Victorious Festival! It’s obviously always a highlight of the year for us at Pigeon Books – we’ve been there as part of the Literacy Live stage in the past, and although this year we’re not actively involved, we’re still keen to get behind it as an incredible boost to the community, and to Southsea and Portsmouth as a whole!
If you need something to get you in the mood in the lead-up to the weekend, we’ve always got a great selection of music-related books no matter your taste – from biographies and memoirs (‘The Storyteller’ by Dave Grohl, ‘Me’ by Elton John, and ‘It Takes Blood And Guts’ by Skin being strong favourites of yours), musical history (‘Musical Truth’ by Jeffrey Boakye, ‘Music Is History’ by Questlove and ‘Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop’ by Jeff Chang as my personal recommendations), and if you want something related to Victorious directly, then the ‘Listening Party’ books by Tim Burgess of the Charlatans are available now, or how about a cheeky pre-order of the forthcoming ‘Marr’s Guitars’ by Johnny Marr?
Come along and have a browse of our shop full of books both music-related and otherwise while you can – we’ll be closed over the weekend itself, but back open as usual on Tuesday 29th.
And as always, if there’s something you want that we don’t have – just ask! During the week we can usually get hold of books the next day – so don’t be tempted to order online, and remember to shop local and support your favourite indie businesses – both this weekend and all year round! Here is our website if you want to have a browse.
