There is a new cocktail bar on Clarendon Road called Chimneys. It sits where the old Sunday Post used to be. What I love about this place is that it offers a relaxed atmosphere with eclectic interiors but also theatrical cocktails which are so cool.
Offering 2-4-1 cocktails all day on a Thursday and from 7.30pm – 9pm on Friday's and Saturday's means you can pop here for a nice drink before going for a meal or come after an early dinner and enjoy some fab drinks.
I especially love the Her Majesty's Tea Party sharing option which is £25 and has Hendricks Gin, Earl Grey Tea, Candied Rhubarb and Blackberries then topped up with Sparkling Wine! What's not to love?
On the opening night, I had a Passionfruit Martini and it came in a wonderful glass cover with a dramatic steam. I loved the flavour and you can tell that the bar tenders know how to make a good cocktail. Chimneys work closely with Mermaid Gin from the Isle of Wight which is a fabulous gin so it really adds depth to their gin cocktails available.
This place is a little gem as it isn't too big and has that intricate speak easy feel about it. The interiors are like a cosy living room with velvet seats and then a touch of modern edge with the lighting and eclectic props scattered around.
I think with the cocktail offers, it means you can share a lovely cocktail with your friend for like £4.50 on the 2-4-1 window and thats a nice feeling. With booked live music planned and also a cigar section to buy at the bar, this place has all the vibes!
