Sacred Chow is a new exciting plant-based food business offering amazing meals delivered to your door. Just as they launched this service in Southsea, I chatted to Julia one of the co-founders about why they created this business and what we can hope to gain locally from ordering their food.
She said “we cook delicious, plant-based food and deliver it hot to your home every night of the week. In a year when people couldn't visit restaurants they ordered on the food apps and we felt there was a gap in the plant-based market to deliver tasty, fresh meals that are healthy but also focus on being eco friendly, so, good for the planet and good for your health!
We have found a huge increase in meat eaters wanting a variation in their diet and realising that eating plant based one night a week is a good thing to do. Creating Meat Free Monday's at Sacred Chow allows options but also flavour. You don't need to be vegan to enjoy our lovely meals you can just try something new!”
Convenience never tasted so good!
Speaking of her husband Stuart who used to work for 'Just Eat' Julia said “he is passionate about food and the type of cuisine that consumers order, so he felt there was something lacking in choices outside of London.” Setting up Sacred Chow in different locations across the South Coast including Brighton means they are on a mission to change our mindset on good food as a convenient option and not just hit the fast food chain button.
Ordering from the menu is very easy and with the very popular dishes like Sweet Potato Katsu Curry and Morrocon Tagine you are spoilt for choices. The mains are around £6.50 so very reasonably priced and the dessert menu of oat-based ice creams look carefully crafted and delicious all at the same time.
Not only is the quality of the food important but the delivery service too which is why Sacred Chow work very closely with restaurant partners who are just as committed to food quality and safety as they are, but also they make sure the drivers get a fair price for the job they do which isn't always the case in other take away companies.
If you want to see if they deliver to your door there is a cool postcode checker on the website, so while you are drooling over which ingredients are making you hungry, you can check this. And with a slogan like 'Super-Freaking-Tasty Takeaway' you really should give it a try!
