Theatre: top picks for the spring
As the feeling of Christmas and baubles leaves us and we think about our year ahead a great thing to do is to book something at the Theatre. In Portsmouth and Southsea, we are lucky that we have three great venues to choose from ranging from dance, comedy and drama. Here are a few of our top picks for the spring:
The New Theatre has Lee Hurst on the 10th February and Some Mothers Do Ave Em is arriving there also on the 19th March until the 24th (such a classic).
The Kings Theatre has Flashdance the musical on the 14th May, a must for any dance enthusiast. If you’ve watched the original 80s film then you’ll know just how good it is; the story of a girl who’s a welder by day and dancer by night. Ooh can’t wait!
Also at the Kings is Dara O’Brian on the 10th May a well-loved comedian and host of Mock the Week.
The Guildhall has Portsmouth Comedy Festival on 10th/11th March . A huge host of household names will be there and it looks like a great way to spend your weekend.
