What I love about this festival is how it always brings the wonderful community we have in Portsmouth together. Whether that be the independent food trucks dishing up incredible grub or stalls of small businesses selling their products, tees and handmade delights.
If you want a feeling of what Victorious Festival is about, you can read my review from last year here.
Looking at the stage times, there really are some incredible headliners and lots of buzz around Fatboy Slim playing the main stage on Friday night. After his secret set last September to around 200 people at the Pitt St Skate Park, it feels like we are welcoming Norman back with open arms.
There’s tees to be bought from Strong Island Clothing stating the famous slogan from Fatboy’s song, ‘Right Here, Right Now!’ and portrait paintings to be carried home by Donna Benton. You can buy other musician portraits from The Box Gallery on Castle Road!
You can also pop down to the Pitt St Skate Park and meet Fatboy Slim on Saturday morning as he signs coffee tins and welcomes local artist Daniel Stubbs AKA ‘All Caps’ who created the front cover for the 10th edition of Southsea Folk. If you haven’t seen the new Pepita Coffee tin then go and have a look. They are collectable tins that house luxury blend coffee and it means you can keep the artist’s tin to treasure.
The lineup looks so good as does the comedy tent! I am looking forward to seeing The Snuts on Friday as I have followed them from the start of their journey. The Glasgow lads have come a long way since their debut album W.L back in 2021. Catch them play at the Common Stage from 3.30pm.
Also on Friday is the local band, The Stayawakes, who will be playing the Introducing Stage. This punk band make you feel like you have heard their songs in a famous brat pack film from back in the day, set in the late 80’s/90’s but no it is just their perfect style of smashing out timeless tunes like their hit ‘Oh Telephone’. Catch them at 1.50pm and bring the sunshine with you!
