Tomato Plant Frenzy
We all know how the song goes 'You say tomato I say?" but were you one of those people that just had to grow tomato plants during lockdown? Having a tiny seed and watching it spring to life by just adding water has kept the nation occupied during those lockdown weeks. Some people even managed to grow tomatoes just from the seeds of the little round red juicy things they kept in the fridge!

Winniemmay Auction
Winniemmay (Donna Poingdestre) has been a full-time artist since 2017 and has a style that I feel is distinctive: Often using strong images of women in her artwork. Working on both large and small scale projects allows Winniemmay to continue developing her technique and unique style.

Southsea Staycation
If getting away is not possible over the Summer then don't despair! You live in such a vibrant place that you can still have fun now that lockdown has eased. Southsea has that wonderful holiday vibe all year round so you can feel like you are on holiday most of the time.

Carry On Campers
Let's face things. We’ve all been cooped up for weeks on end worrying about the virus and when we are finally let out we want to escape our homes; our comfort for the last few months that might have started to feel a little restrictive. The problem? The usual Summer holiday abroad we might have planned is definitely now in turmoil and maybe a few people who never holiday in the UK are quivering with despair as to what they might do. Can they be bothered by the British weather? What can you even do on a British holiday?

Sophie Cuts
Sophie Cuts is an inspiration from a local creative who upcycles furniture to make it look beautiful (imagine a mid-century piece transformed), has a wonderful eye for design and just knows how to use pops of colour tastefully to make your home look amazing. Running @ bourjoisbiscuit Instagram which offers daily interior design inspiration and a following of over 17K allows Sophie to be creative 24/7. The idea behind Sophie Cuts is to create bright coloured fun and vibrant pieces that make you look twice, that once framed and hung will make for interesting modern art in people's homes.

Missing
A few weeks into lockdown I had the pleasure of promoting Ella and Missing Promotions for a Friday evening live session that she organised called Isolation Station. There were fans missing going to live music gigs and artists missing performing them so to have a chance to watch a local talented band or musician play while sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine appealed to me!

Brutalist Records
Focusing on the music industry this week was important to me as anyone that knows me understands not only my love of music but also that I have watched my son grow in his band for the last 3 years. Part of watching him grow was picking him up from pub car parks at 11pm at night to watching him build a following in small venues in the city. These venues are what makes a musician or band grow and any success of where they go always comes from local roots, a local following of fans.
